EXPERIENCE

FOSSIL GROUP - Senior Copywriter 10/22-present
It’s been a dream to write for such an iconic global brand. “I remember when I got my first Fossil watch” never gets old. At Fossil, I write digital, social and in-store content for premium accessories, including watches (of course), handbags, wallets and jewelry. I helped lead the creative concepting and copy development for seasonal campaigns and exclusive collaborations—Disney, Barbie and The Wizard of Oz to name a few. I also flexed my skills as a manager and editor for mid-level copywriters.

WALMART - Copy Manager, 1/2022–10/2022 / Senior Copywriter, 10/2021–1/2022
The energy and identity of Walmart is unmistakable, defined by a bright burst of blue and trademark spark. I was fortunate to write for the nation’s largest retailer, first as a Senior Copywriter before being promoted to Copy Manager. I created digital content for every retail category imaginable: entertainment, tech, sports, home improvement, outdoor living and gift registry. In addition to developing assets for paid social, site content, email campaigns and push notifications, I also partnered with third-party licensees, such as Netflix and NBC Universal to produce co-branded marketing content.

SAM’S CLUB - Content Manager / Senior Copywriter, 11/2019–10/2021
For two thrilling years, you’d find me in the club—Sam’s Club, that is. Writing for this warehouse retail giant was fun on a *really* big scale. I developed strategic digital and catalog content across multiple categories, including home, entertaining, food, fashion, health and tech to grow membership and build loyalty. I also managed copy from creative agency partners to ensure the voice was on brand.

MEDLINE INDUSTRIES - Creative Lead, 3/2018 - 9/2019 / Senior Copywriter, 7/2017-3/2018
At Medline, I took on a meaningful challenge and stepped into the world of healthcare retail at the nation’s largest medical supply company. Beginning as a Senior Copywriter, then promoted to Creative Lead, I managed a team of writers and designers as we created impactful B2B/B2C marketing content with a human touch, including digital assets and sales collateral. From IVs to wound care, we developed storytelling for medical products that help healthcare professionals provide the very best care to patients. 

CRATE AND BARREL - Copywriter, 1/2011-7/2017
I will always think of Crate and Barrel as my true copywriting home. It was not only the longest stint of my career, I also honed my craft there under the guidance of a mentor who’s kind of a legend (my words, not hers). I wrote product and lifestyle content across every channel for this much-loved, Chicago-born home furnishings brand, including digital, social, catalog, packaging, direct, mail, store signage and advertising. The common thread? To make you want to bring it all home. I also served as the lead writer for three key programs: Registry, Credit Card and Designer Trade, and contributed to CB2, the modern brand within the Crate and Barrel family.

H2O+ BEAUTY - Senior Copywriter, 8/2008 - 1/2011
I’ve always been beauty-obsessed, so serving as the singular copywriter for the H2O+ skincare brand was a passion project. As a one-woman copy band, I did it all: developed packaging copy, product names, SEO product descriptions, email campaigns, print ads, direct mail and promotional themes. I worked with regulatory counsel to ensure legal compliance on skincare claims and secure trademarked names for products and technologies. I also played a key role in a rebranding effort, developing a refreshed copy voice, new tagline and company story.

CONSUMERS DIGEST MAGAZINE - Associate Editor, 2/2007 - 8/2008
Living out my magazine dreams, I helped consumers make informed purchasing decisions through the content I created at Consumers Digest magazine. I planned, wrote and directed front-of-the-book departments, which covered retail, travel, health, cars and technology. I also managed junior writers and interns, which was incredibly rewarding.

BLOOMINGDALE’S - Copywriter, 11/2005-1/2007
Call it serendipity. Shortly after landing in New York after grad school, I landed my first copywriting job at a quintessential New York retailer: Bloomingdale’s (of Little Brown Bag fame). It was surreal. Here, I wrote trend-forward copy for top fashion, beauty and home brands, such as Theory and YSL. My work was seen in digital assets, direct mail, in-store campaigns and advertorials in The New York Times and other national publications.

As a side hustle, I write omni-channel content for brands big and small.
